    Primal Groudon Analysis

Post by Lord Itachi on Sun 7 Feb - 11:41

The Continent Pokemon which made the lands rise has taken a new form by adding a secondary type to it. Groudon-Primal is the perfect example of the weapon of mass destruction. By just holding the Red Orb it has completely changed the meta game.
The secondary Fire type helps it check the Fairies and prevents it from burn spam. Its stats are so well  distributed that it fulflls every role which a team needs in this new meta.

    The Sweeper
    Groudon @ Red Orb
    Trait: Drought
    EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spd
    Adamant Nature
    - Fire Punch
    - Precipice Blades
    - Rock Polish
    - Stone Edge

The EVs are distributed in such a way that it an take a +2 Moonblast and strike back. 252 Atk is to give maximum damage to the foe without any boost. The speed stats help in out-speeding most pokemon in this tier after a +2.
-Fire Punch: Primary STAB . Hits hard in the sunlight.
-Precipice Blades: The most powerful STAB. Hits almost everything which doesn't fly or levitate.
-Rock Polish: To get a speed boost and sweep the entire field.
-Stone Edge: For those who resist its STABs.

    Xerneas Check
    Groudon @ Red Orb
    Trait: Drought
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
    Sassy Nature
    - Earthquake
    - Roar
    - Lava Plume
    - Stealth Rock

Maximum special defense and HP to check a +2 Xerneas and pseudo-phase it.
-Earthquake: Less powerful than Precipices Blades but 100% accurate. For the opponent's support pokemons.
-Roar: To pseudo-phase the +2 Boosted Xerneas.
    -Lava Plume: For providing burn+damage.
    -Stealth Rock: Standard entry hazards.

The Great Pokémon Master's Awakening Infernal Dinosaur
    Groudon @ Red Orb
    Trait: Drought
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
    Sassy Nature
    - Roar
    - Lava Plume
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk

This set insures that the Continent Pokemon stays in the game for a long time.
    -Roar: For pseudo-phasing.
    -Lava Plume: Burn+Damage.
-Rest: To get the health back.
-Sleep Talk: Enables it to attack in the sleep.
